Family of Raynard Coleman, The Suspected Detroit Serial Rapist, Apologizes

The family of a man believed to be a serial rapist in Detroit is issuing an apology to his victims.

“Whatever it (takes), whoever did it, we want justice. (Doesn’t) matter what it (comes) down to, we want justice,” exclaims Allen Coleman, uncle of the suspect, Raynard Coleman.

DNA evidence and victim testimonials have caused the family of Coleman to speak out and apologize for actions that he may have taken.

Speaking only to FOX 2, they expressed at their Detroit church, Total Life Christian Ministries, that it is still difficult to accept what appears factual.

Raynard spent 14 years in prison for assault with intent to commit murder and other crimes. In the 2 years he had been free, he joined the church, got a job and seemed to be headed in the right direction.

His mother Yvonne Mack, admitted she was getting reacquainted with her son since his release and still finds it hard to imagine him doing such a thing.

I feel sorry for the victims, and I just feel sorry for everything that they had to go through because it’s like we all (are) going through it,” said Mack.

Coleman is currently suspected of attacking eight women in Detroit, following them home and robbing and raping seven of them at gunpoint. None of the family has communicated with the suspect since his arrest, but his mother plans to visit Wayne County Jail next Monday to ask him about the allegations and hopefully get some answers.

Another one of Raynard’s uncle’s expressed. “I have grandkids, daughters, so I can understand what people are going through. We never know what another person would do, even our own family.”
