Madame C.J. Walker Biopic To Be Released
The story of hair product mogul and first female millionaire Madame C.J. Walker is set to be brought to the big screen.
Spirit of Life Films, LLC, the producers in pre-production for “Blondie: The Florence Ballard Story” starring Faith Evans, are confirming that they've acquired film rights to "The Road to Millions: The Life of Madam C.J. Walker.”
The biopic, produced in conjunction with Honey K Productions, will detail the meteoric rise of the beauty product entrepreneur and business pioneer.
While the lead actress has yet to be named, Oscar winners have already been attached to the film and an announcement will be made in the forthcoming weeks.
Producers are said to be looking for an actress who truly understands Madame Walker's journey.
According to the hair care mogul herself;
"I am a woman who came from the cotton fields of the South. From there I was promoted to the washtub. From there I was promoted to the cook kitchen and from there I promoted myself into the business of manufacturing hair goods and preparations.”
"The Road to Millions: The Life of Madam C.J. Walker" is slated to begin filming Summer, 2011.
