"Love And Hip-Hop's" Emily B Talks Relationship With Fabolous, "He's The Star Not Me" [Photos/Video]

Fabolous' girlfriend of nearly a decade stopped through Atlanta this weekend for the premiere of her new reality show "Love And Hip-Hop."

Emily Bustamente b.k.a. Emily B talked with HipHopWired about her famous relationship, how she got started on the VH1 docuseries and whether she'd return for another season.

At first Emily was apprehensive to speak on Fab's reaction to the show and stated "No Comment" before adding,

"He's very private...going in I didn't know that so much would be talked about him.It's a reality show so they wanna pick you for drama and they wanted to pick me for everything that was bothering me and they got me. (Laughs)"


She also fired back at critics who accused her of playing the background to her celebrity boyfriend.

"I haven't really played the background, I've been there for him throughout his career. I feel like I helped him...
He's a trendsetter, he's one of the most stylish men in Hip-Hop and I feel like I was a a part of that. And I enjoyed being that for him. I took pride in that and I feel like if I had to play the background, to where he's at then I was fine with that. I didn't need to be in the spotlight because he's the star, not me."


In addition to speaking on Fab, Emily made mention that the mother of Diddy's son Justin, Misa Hylton, was originally cast to star in the show alongside Olivia and Chrissy Lampkin.

      maybe she loved someone and chose to believe what he was telling her instead of gossip? I don't know, most people have been there before so I can't judge her too harshly.

      but it's sad because she speaks about everything in the past tense, which makes me think they are no longer together. These reality shows are just never a good idea.

    Having been in emilys situation I understand that it's hard to let go of a man when you love him and he tells you he loves you but does not show. It's like in your mind you think that because he says he loves you that one day things might change for the better so you stick it out for your family 1 year 2 yrs and B4 you know it 5 or 10 yrs have pasted and your still in the same relationship hopeing things will change. This show is the best thing for her because she will get to see her relationship from the outside the way everyone else sees it and then she can decide for her self. It's simple to just say she's dumd, stupid or whatever but when someone says they love you it's a powerful thing. And the fact that they live "the good life" makes it just that much harder. I know having money isn't everything but it does make life easier. Fab is a dog she's trying to do the right thing by trying to keep her family together. It's sad cause she seems like a good woman in a world filled with hoes and golddiggers.

    The so called Good Life can make you forget about other women quick, put it into your mind that you are friends with benefits, know that he cheats and use a condom every time. Keep your Bently and jewels, stack paper and make a plan. Once you've made enough connections to make it on your own and keep that life that you are accustomed to, leave the relationship.

    As a woman its hard to wrap your mind as to why somebody would want to be the "secret" for so long but what I will say is that their relationship has lasted bc she played that position. Now that she's airing it all out...I give it 6 months before it's done. And that's the saddest part bc she isn't the star & just bc a man doesn't go on tv & profess his love for you in every interview doesn't mean that's not how he feels, obviously it's been 8 years so there is something there. Women just want to have a public label put on them so bad(girlfriend, fiancé) that they don't realize when they're slowing ruining a good thing

    I guess what's messing me up about Emily is that her man (Fabolous) represented Adrienne Bailon as his woman for quite sometime. They were everywhere together, posing and shopping. You mean to tell me this whole time that Emily was picking out the clothes he would wear to look good for the other chicks? While these girls were on his arm publicly? Wow....

    Emily is a very pretty lady. I don't know much about her, but from what I've seen lately she looks pretty unhappy and like she depends on this guy. She may think she needs him but, she doesn't. She seems to have a great personality and is very attractive. She needs to stand up and show him she doesn't need him. If it's his child she'll get support for him while she's starting her new life.
