Teyana Taylor Dropped From Interscope/Star Trak
After a six year run with Interscope/Star Trak Records, Teyana Taylor has been released from her deal according to HipHopNews24-7.com. After the Harlem singer/rapper never saw her single "Google Me" take off, she seemingly hit the back burner.
"I officially got my release from Star Trak/Interscope, I was signed for six years and there's a lot of stuff that comes with the industry."
"Everybody bowed out gracefully. There was no beef. I love Interscope, I love Star Trak. It's always love for Pharrell; that's my big brother. Now it's time for me to go from a caterpillar to a butterfly. I had to fly away from the nest and venture out on my own."
Despite her lack of success within her solo work, Taylor's been featured on several records within the last year. Taylor can be found on Jadakiss' latest mixtape I Love You, Dipset's "Party Tonight" and will be featured in the visual for Tyga's "Still Got It," off of his upcoming project Careless World. In addition to those projects, she also landed an appearance on Kanye West's My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy album, as well as "Christmas In Harlem" as part of his G.O.O.D. Friday's releases.
The collabs with West were made interesting, after they followed rumors that the two were "involved." That relationship was seemingly headed to one of a business nature, as Taylor was rumored to be joining G.O.O.D. Music. Now that she is free from her deal, it remains to be seen if she'll go from an unfortunate situation, to a G.O.O.D. one.
Look for Taylor in the upcoming Gang of Roses Project, alongside Amber Rose, Rosci Diaz, and more.
