Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta star and R&B singer K.Michelle stopped through The Breakfast Club for an equals parts crazy and hilarious interview. The former Jive artists spoke on a variety of topics including Ma$e trying to put her on, being R. Kelly’s prodigy and even the time A&R exec Memphitz, allegedly, beat her up.
The Memphis, TN native addressed her ongoing tiff with Toya Wright, current wife of the aforementioned Memphitz, who K.Michelle alleges beat her up and squandered her recording budget. “I’m not trippin’ off that, men will tell you stuff. But don’t come for me, just say, ‘I believe my husband,'” said K. Michelle. “Don’t come for me, cause that’s not what you want to do.”
But K.Michelle had much more to say about the altercation. “I never was saying that he was a bad person. I knew he had temper issues,” said K.Michelle of Memphitz, who signed her first record deal. “But at the same time, I also knew his background.”
And this is where ish got weird when she said, “The Ku Kl-x Kl-n killed his daddy. He don’t know where his daddy body is and people would call up to the label like, ‘Hey, I know where your daddy body is, give me some money.'”
K.Michelle then detailed R. Kelly coming in to take her on tour and even offering to take her off the hands of Jive. But she claims that Memphitz vetoed that move. Which lead to outlandish threats. “Then when I’m doing interviews and PR, I start saying I’ma telling my story. Cause you still sending me text messages,” said K.Michelle. “You still threatening me. He even threatened to kill my son.”
