Chief Keef Says He Made Himself Hot, Kanye West "Ain't Do Sh-t"
Chief Keef was already bubbling on the Chicago streets thanks to some local hits but in particularly the Young Chop-produced anthem "I Don't Like." Of all places, a Gawker story raised his profile on the Internets but it was surely Kanye West remixing the song with a bunch of his G.O.O.D. Music cronies, and Jadakiss, that raised the Chi-town teen's hype factor. However, the Interscope rapper feels that Yeezy didn't have much to do with his current success. According to Keef, via Twitter, he made himself hot.
Peep the tweet in question below.
Hey, everyone is entitled to their opinion. But, having one of the hottest producers in the game and his crew hop on your track will boost your rep, period. Unless you're like, Jay-Z.
No one should be surprised at Keef's nonchalance about a Yeezy co-sign, though. In May, he told XXL, "I wasn't surprised," about Ye wanting to remix his track. "I was just like, ‘Kanye? Kanye wanna get on ‘I Don't Like'? But I could understand it, 'cause I know he be on it to talk about what he don't like. And I made the song and nobody had come out with that idea yet." Then back in June, Keef told VIBE he never even spoke to Kanye West or anyone else at G.O.O.D. Music, so maybe that's where any perceived animosity is coming from.
What do you think? Is Chief Keef keeping it 100 or just being plain ungrateful?
