An alleged affiliate of Wiz Khalifa and one other man has been arrested in connection with the carjacking and stabbing of Pittsburgh Steelers player Mike Adams. Police are on the hunt for a third suspect as this bizarre case continues to unfold.
As reported yesterday evening (June 3) by CBS station KDKA, Dquay Means, 26, from the Hazelwood neighborhood, was arrested last night by Pittsburgh police after leading them on a foot chase. The man police say actually stabbed Adams, Michael Paranay, 25, also of Hazelwood, was arrested earlier in the day.
Means, who moonlights as rapper Quay Meanz, is connected to Khalifa's Taylor Gang crew. A look at his Facebook fan page show Means smoking kush and profiling in typical rapper fashion for the camera. Police hope to nab the third suspect soon.
Paranay faces one count of criminal attempt homicide, one count of aggravated assault and one count of criminal conspiracy. Means was slapped with the charges of criminal attempt homicide, aggravated assault, attempted carjacking, former convict not to possess a firearm, terroristic threats, criminal conspiracy and escape.
Adams, 23, was standing next to his parked vehicle around 3 a.m. Saturday (June 1) morning when three men approached him. One man had a gun, and another had a knife. Surveillance video taken near the intersection of 17th and E. Carson Street show the moments after Adams was stabbed. It was that same video that led police to the arrest of Means and Paranay.
Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin has visited his player, and Adams is expected to make a full recovery.
