Adding to the list of quality Hip-Hop tunes to hit the Internets this week is none other than Black Milk. The sorely underrated producer and MC returns with a new single called “Perfected On Puritan Ave.”

The song is titled after a notable street in the musician’s native Detroit. Lyrically he flourishes with an anecdotal tale about a few ill-fated days in the hood. “Puritan ave. looking over your shoulder/Don’t realize you from a ghetto til you get a little older,” recalls the worthy wordsmith.

About midway through, the track segues from the beat and lyrics into a full on improvisational jazz piece. If you didn’t know, one can always expect the unexpected from the Decon artist.

“Perfected On Puritan Ave” will appear on Black Milk’s forthcoming album, No Poison No Paradise. At the moment, Black Thought, Dwele, Robert Glasper, and Quelle Chris are the only known features. Hear the song below.
