To celebrate two GRAMMY nominations and a performance on the big night, musician Gary Clark Jr. is releasing Blak and Blu: The Mixtape. On it you’ll find the “Blak and Blue (Remix),” featuring Big K.R.I.T.

Clark Jr. coins the project a “remixtape.” It is comprised of unreleased music and reworked songs from his Blak and Blu debut. That said, this new version of the title track features an introspective verse from Krizzle.

K.R.I.T. waxes poetics throughout the smooth production. “Don’t let the world brand you and hand you no a$$ whooping/ You gotta knuckle up, knuck and buck; shake yo dreads/ Ain’t talking ’bout the club, save yo dub; make your bread,” the Mississippi MC rhymes.

Blak and Blu: The Mixtape has yet to receive a release date, but Erykah Badu, Bilal, and Talib Kweli are confirmed for guess appearances.
