Toronto Mayor Rob Ford Officially In Rehab

Toronto Mayor Rob Ford can’t keep himself out of the headlines even if he tried. With rumors going around last week that Ford was in a substance abuse treatment clinic in Canada, the news was finally confirmed by the country’s leading news agency.

A doctor from an unnamed clinic confirmed that Ford has indeed been receiving treatment at the facility since May 1 as reported by the CBC. The public suspected this was the case after Ford largely disappeared from the media and calls he made to the Toronto Sun prior to last Friday hinted at the mayor being in rehab. The doctor from the clinic had Ford’s blessing to tell the network of his stint in rehab, with the reports being mostly favorable. Last week, Ford told a Sun columnist that he was enjoying his drug rehab treatment, likening it to football camp.

While things are all fresh and happy on Ford getting clean and sober, the news came on the heels of yet another video of the mayor under the influence was unleashed. But beyond the videos of Ford’s bizarre behavior, there are new revelations that suggest the mayor is a racist.

Back in March, Ford appeared on ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live and was apparently high on something. Audio captured on his return trip to Toronto has the impaired mayor driving his Escalate with two known felons and drug cohorts in the car with his young children in the backseat. During the audio clip obtained by the Toronto’s The Star, Ford launches a barrage of racist insults during a phone call.

“Nobody sticks up for people like I do, every f—ing k–e, n—-r, f—ing w-p, d-go, whatever the race. Nobody does. I’m the most racist guy around. I’m the mayor of Toronto,” said Ford.

That same night, Ford socks his drug buddy and drug addict Bruno Bellissimo while holding a big of Big Macs and fries. Amazingly, Ford continued to conduct official city business that next day after the wild night on the town.
