Blu – “The Return” [LISTEN]

The West Coast is a prideful region by tradition. Musically speaking, that lineage has inspired some of the best Hip-Hop album’s we’ve seen in recent years and that can continue with Blu’s Good To Be Home LP.

Today, the veteran rhymer returns with “The Return,” a song that’s speaks about Los Angeles’ historical gang culture. Soulful production backs Blu’s vivid accounts of his experiences as a neutral civilian who never gang banged a day in his life.

“What you do when your name’s Blu, and you run into a crip, a cholo, a piru/ And everybody wanna know on the coast, what set you claim/ All my life I had that name, but never banged,” the former XXL Freshman rapped.

Good To Be Home, due to release Tuesday, March 20, is a “unapologetic celebration of Los Angeles music and culture.” Guest appearances include Prodigy, Casey Veggies, The Alchemist, Evidence, and more. Pre-order the project via iTunes. Stream Blu’s “The Return” below.
