Internationally known producer will.i.am ran into a bit of a snafu last week when he was flying with his prefered airlines, United.

As the Black Eye Peas star was on his way to D.C. to support Diddy during his Howard graduation speech, the powers that be at the airline didn’t exactly recognize him and accused him of having a fake members card. As a result, they politely booted him from their prestigious United lounge.

“#unitedAIRLINES is the worse,” the BEP frontman exclaimed on May 10 via his official Twitter account. “Im a member & I have my card to prove it. but they tell me my card is fake & kick me out the lounge #ouch. I fly so much…a business should know who their customers are…its ok im making this my lounge,” he said posted a pic of a nondescript chair outside of the lounge.

He also posted his members card which didn’t appear to be faulty in the slightest. He also said one of the pilots even had the nerve to ask for a selfie with him.

Since the incident, United Airlines made a statement on the matter but made sure not to tweet it, which was probably for the best, considering the epic hackjob US Airways experienced a month ago.

According to The Independent, the airline said, “We invite only customers travelling in United Global First, customers with Global Services status traveling in United BusinessFirst, and customers traveling in first class on other Star Alliance carriers to visit our Global First Lounges. Since the customer did not meet these criteria he did not have access to the lounge. We are reaching out to the customer and appreciate his business.”
