Meek Mill Not Getting Out Of Jail Until September
A judge just dealt a major blow to Meek Mill‘s album promotion schedule. The Maybach Music Group rapper’s lawyers were unable to schedule an emergency hearing, meaning Meek isn’t getting of jail until September.
According to the Philadelphia News, Meek’s lawyers filed a petition on Thursday, July 17 seeking an emergency hearing within three days in order to free their client.
However, Common Pleas Judge Genece Brinkley said her schedule won’t be free until September. This is the same judge who sentenced Meek to three to six months in jail for a parole violation.
Also, according to Meek’s lawyers, Judge Brinkley rejected their request to have another judge hear the case. Sounds like Meek ticked off the wrong judge.
Meek’s lawyers are researching what to do next and also believe that the rapper’s jail sentence is “unconstitutional.” Brinkley revoked Meek’s bail for his antics on social media, including posing with a gun, as well as allegedly disparaging his probation officer.
Meek Mill’s new album, Dreams Worth More Than Money, is due in stores September 9.
