The city of Detroit has endured a lot of hardships throughout the few centuries of its existence and today, July 24, 2014, it celebrates a birthday on an anniversary date exclusive to the city.

Commonly known as “The 313” for its nearly universal area code, today marks the three hundred and thirteenth year since Antoine de la Mothe Cadillac founded what is also known as “The D.”

While many renown rappers such as Eminem, Royce da 5’9 and Danny Brown have repped for the city until they were Honolulu Blue in the face, Flyboi MAHD is making his humble entry into the Hip-Hop arena. And he’s paying homage to the urban jungle that gave him life with a born day song.

With just a simple greeting, MAHD sits us down and becomes our tour guide on the accompanying visuals for “Hello Detroit.” It’s nothing fancy; the city’s Midwestern, blue-collar attitude has never demanded celebrity. It’s all about carrying yourself with respect and dignity when you’re from the 313. Regardless of those put into power are doing.

Watch the “Hello Detroit” video below and holla at MAHD on Twitter. His next project titled 13 is right around the corner.
