It’s not often that a group of rookies can just successfully bogart their way into rap music, but Rae Sremmurd have already caught the attention of Nicki Minaj, Juicy J and Pusha T, among others. Such a feat proves that influence doesn’t always have to come with experience.

Consisting of blood brothers Swae Lee and Slim Jimmy, Rae Sremmurd’s debut single, “No Flex Zone” has become on the biggest viral hits of 2014, thanks to its hashtag-ready title and catchy, if not adorable vocals from the group’s members.

Hip-Hop Wired was able to step into Tupelo, MS native’s zone without any animosity to discuss their relationship with Mike Will Made It (composer of “No Flex Zone”), the decision to flip the Ear Drummers name to generate their own moniker and the authenticity of Miley Cyrus’ Hip-Hop pass.

Take a look at the exclusive video below and purchase “No Flex Zone” on iTunes as the duo puts the finishing touches on their first full-length project.
