Lincoln Motor & Black Greek Letter Organizations Team Up For New Campaign
Lincoln Motor Company and the National Pan-Hellenic Council’s nine Black Greek Letter Organizations are teaming up for a new campaign that will benefit local charities. The program, The Divine Nine Driven To Give, is a new version of Lincoln’s existing Driven To Give initiative, which supports charitable organizations by raising money.
The Driven To Give program teams local Lincoln dealerships with a school or charity group, conducting one-day test drives of vehicles in the motor company’s fleet. The effort raises money for educational and related programs for the respective schools and charities. With the backing of the Divine Nine, the campaign will aim some of its fundraising efforts in Black Communities.
“Being able to engage with influencers on initiatives that matter most to them is key in our efforts to introduce some of our newest products, like the first-ever Lincoln MKC, within the African-American community,” said Shawn Thompson, Lincoln manager, multicultural marketing. “We are thrilled to be able to share this program with the National Pan-Hellenic Council to help local communities.”
Each Black Greek Letter group has selected a charitable program to represent, along with an area to host the event. The Greek Influencer Initiative will start Saturday, August 16, with events in Dallas and Detroit. Other cities to follow before ending in the fall include Atlanta, Chicago, Miami and Washington, D.C.
Each Black Greek Letter organization can earn up to $6,000 if they complete up to 200 test drives. The group that has the most test drives will also get a bonus $5,000 and a $20,000 contribution to their national governing body.
The National Pan-Hellenic Council, also referred to as the Divine Nine, are comprised of nine historical Black Greek Letter Organizations: Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.; Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.; Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.; Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.; Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.; Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc.; Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.; Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc.; and Iota Phi Theta Fraternity, Inc.
