Boston’s Edo. G Returns With New Album, After All These Years
If you’re asking, Where has Edo. G been?, you just weren’t paying close enough attention. The Boston rap veteran will be dropping his eleventh album, After All The Years, in September.
Edo’s new project will feature guests like Camp Lo, Guilty Simpson and Chuck D, among others. Production will be handled by the likes of Marco Polo, Pete Rock and 9th Wonder.
It’s the Chocolate Boy Wonder who hooked up the funky instrumental of album opener “2 Turntables And A Mic,” whose video you can watch below.
The new album was partly funded by a Kickstarter campaign. “With this album, it was time for a different approach to the business side, and it was important for me to give fans a chance to be a part of the process,” said Edo via a press release. “The support we got for the Kickstarter campaign, which allowed us to bring it out much sooner than we would have if we were funding it independently, was crucial to making it what it is. And it also confirmed to me something very important: that people will always support real hip-hop.”
After All These Years is in stores September 9 via Edo. G’s own 5th & Union Records and you can cop it off iTunes here.
