Exclusive: Nev From MTV’s Catfish Talks Experience With Struggle Rapper [VIDEO]
MTV's Catfish is a highly entertaining television show that usually journeys through the perils of potential fake relationship. However, one episode this year sent shockwaves through the Hip-Hop community when a rapper--who goes by the name of the Kidd Cole--claimed to be signed to Kanye West's G.O.O.D. Music and had an entire segment dedicated to his capers.
Hip-Hop Wired caught up with the show's host, Nev Schulman on the 2014 MTV VMA red carpet and asked him to relive his experience with "Cole," who singer Lil Mo later revealed was her estranged stepson.
"To be fair, he's not a rapper, so we shouldn't even give him the credit of calling him that," Nev recalled with a smirk. "I would say he's an artist--but a scam artist." The 29-year-old film producer admitted that Cole had a bit of smarts in his cerebellum, but was clueless on his whereabouts since the episode aired.
As far as the matchmaking game, Nev is still filming his famed TV show, but he's adding author to his résumé with his upcoming book, In Real Life.
Watch the video below for the details on the book and the recount of Catfish rappers.
