Run The Jewels maneuver through Hip-Hop to the beat of their own anarchy-inspiring drums, and fellow musicians are taking notice. Acclaimed Rock artist Jack White announced that the duo will open for him at his upcoming show at Madison Square Garden show on January 31.

For context, if White is outside of your musical scope of interest, this is a very big deal. The MSG concert is not only a rarity for the singer-songwriter and instrumentalist, it’s a high profile stop on an epic international tour.

So far, Killer Mike and El-P have only been enlisted to perform at the MSG show, though country songbird Loretta Lynn and Latin band Chicano Batman are among the tour’s slated openers

“when you get asked to open for jack white at MSG you say yes. its in the bible,” El-P, one half of the rap tandem, tweeted.

This major look follows a big year for the rhyming twosome that included numerous festival dates, an international tour of their own, and, of course, their critically acclaimed Run The Jewels 2 album.

Given Run The Jewels prowess on stage, don’t be surprised if White summons them once again, or even for the long haul.
