A toddler in Alexandra, Johannesburg has already gained a massive following on Facebook for his ability to grasp the concept of DJing before he’s even able to write in cursive or even construct full sentences.

Oratilwe Hlongwane, the two-year-old prodigy known as professionally as DJ AJ, shocked his parents when we began to comprehend the DJ app his father had downloaded on their iPad when we as just one-years-old. Now he being touted as South Africa’s youngest DJ and has taken a particular affinity to house music. He recently attracted a large crowd at a South African shopping mall to show off his knowledge for the mixer board.

Of course, with every kid making headlines in the social media age, accusations of exploitation are soon to follow. His mother, Refiloe Marumo, tells the Associated Press that it “was hard” watching people say negative things about DJ AJ’s newfound fame. His father, Glen Hlongwane, vehemently denies any exploitation claims and says he hopes his son’s technical expertise will lead to a career in technology. Both parents also state they will not force their child to keep up with the disc jockey lifestyle as he gets older.
