Almost 200 people have been arrested after a wild brawl turned shootout between multiple biker gangs and cops left nine people dead. Not so coincidentally, the mainstream media hasn’t been calling the incident involving what looks like a majority of white people anything but “thugs.”
CNN’s initial report quoted a police spokesman as saying “three rival gang groups” were involved.
The New York Times reports today that 192 individuals were arrested.
Law enforcement officials said the gun battle was primarily between the Bandidos and Cossacks gangs, a continuation of a long-running feud between the two groups, though members of the Scimitars and two other gangs were also involved.
Meanwhile the New York Post, which started a past op-ed with “Dead Black Thugs,” noted that “‘Dozens’ of suspected gang members have been detained.”
Now if these bikers were Black, would they be described so methodically, or would they be lumped into the “thug” category; with the code word for the N-word being repeated ad nauseam in the coverage of this terrible incident?
We doubt it.
