Last year in October 2014, brothers Anthony and Harvey Christian were found guilty by a federal jury for not only running a crime ring from inside Staten Island’s Park Hill Apartments but for the murder of 17-year-old Jerome “Boo Boo” Estrella on June 19, 1999 as well.

According to newly-released documents obtained by the Staten Island Advance, the FBI once ran a probe around the same time as the Estrella murder in order to determine whether or not the Wu-Tang Clan’s RZA & Raekwon had marked the Christian brothers for death over alleged robberies towards members of their family.

“The Detectives have documented, in their case files that the WTC is heavily involved in the sale of drugs, illegal guns, weapons possession, murder, car jackings, and other types of violent crimes,” the FBI document read. “It is believed that the [REDACTED] sometimes carry out enforcement actions for the WTC which include beatings, shootings, and murder.”

Michael Gold, Anthony Christian’s lawyer, tells SILive that he believes Estrella was killed “at the instruction of members of the Wu-Tang Clan, a rap group, as revenge for robberies,” and is also attempting to investigate the death of another man named Corey (Shank Bank) Brooker, who was gunned down days after Estrella on June 22, 1999.

“These reports seem to suggest someone else was liable for those murders. I’m not suggesting that Wu-Tang committed these crimes. The FBI did,” Gold said. “What I’m trying to ascertain is their stated belief in an official file that Wu-Tang ordered this homicide.”

Since their inception in 1992, the Wu-Tang Clan has a collective and entity have been a prominent frontrunner for the cultural torchbearers. Perhaps the amount of local street gangs and thugs who identified themselves as “WTC” will never be determined but federal prosecutors are saying Gold received information that link both RZA & Raekwon to the crimes.

Brian Humphreys, a Bloods member-turned-FBI informant and named shooter for Estrella’s hit, testified against the Christian brothers and also recalled of an exchange himself between Paul Ford a.k.a. Uncles, another gangster-turned-informant, where it was revealed that Brooker had robbed RZA’s little brother and Raekwon’s younger cousin.

It is then alleged that RZA paid $30,000 to have Brooker murdered. A claim rebuffed by prosecutors who say the now incarcerated Christian brothers orchestrated both murders, as the robberies were “bad for the drug trade.”
