Hip-Hop had a profound impact on the commercials aired during this year’s Super Bowl. While artists like Drake, Lil Wayne, and T-Pain received a major payday for their Big Game ad appearances, legend Missy Elliott did the same, but also managed to use the look from Amazon as a platform to preview her new song “Pep Rally.”

The proper follow up to Missy’s comeback single “WTF (Where They From)” is an entirely new beast. The Virginia Beach native, who’s no stranger to HBCUs, finds inspiration in marching bands from nearby institutions like Virginia State University and Norfolk State University, resulting is a record full of live percussion and horns that can move crowds of all ages.

In other words, we see more commercial money for Missy Elliott in the near future.

Stream “Pep Rally” in Wired Tracks below, also a hub for Flying Lotus’ contribution to Rick Rubin’s Star Wars-themed project, two new releases from Rich The Kid, and more.
