It is often difficult to distinguish the message from the messenger. Case in point, it’s safe to say that Azealia Banks harshly critiquing Beyoncé and her new Lemonade album won’t go over well on the Internets.

To many, Queen Bey has become a champion of a Black Feminism. However, despite the potential wrath of the BeyHive, there are those that don’t believe the hype—including Banks, who explained why on Twitter, of course.

“This heartbroken black female narrative you keep trying to push is the Antithesis of what feminism is,” tweeted Banks on Monday night (April 25). “You been singing about this ni**a for years and he still playing you. That’s not strength that’s stupidity.”

She added, “You keep crying over a man and perpetuating that sad black female sufferance and it’s Not good for what we’re trying to accomplish here.

That’s cold. But wait, didn’t Banks quit Twitter?

Well, that didn’t last long. Banks, who just dropped a new video for “The Big Big Beat,” did take to Periscope last night (April 26) to elaborate on her recent points.
