Will Smith continues to shoot down hopes of a proper Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air reboot.

It has been 20 years since the final episode of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air aired. Like most things that turn 20 years old, people expect for there to be some kind of celebration or announcement. In the case of Will Smith and the television show that made him a star, the only news that he’s revealing is that there is no news to reveal.

While promoting his new film Collateral Beauty on Entertainment Tonight, Smith was asked if he had any plans in participating in a reboot of the show. Mainly because 90s television reboots have become more popular as of late with shows like Full House, X-Files, Power Rangers and Baywatch all coming back as either series or movies in recent years.

The usually loquacious Smith responded to the idea with a flat response.

“I’m not doing it,” he said. “If somebody wanted to, I would probably let them, but I have no intention.”

Welp, there’s that.

Reports initially surfaced back in 2015 that Smith’s Overbrook Entertainment company was in the early stages of developing and pitching a new version of the series. This past August though, Smith said he would be down with a reboot when “hell freezes over.”

At least with his latest remarks, he’s left a small door open for it to happen, just not with him.
