R. Kelly‘s infamous “Trapped In The Closet” series is making a return. The R&B singer revealed that he has 35 more chapters of the story ready to drop in 2017.

In an interview with AJC.com the prolific singer/songwriter reveals that he has a busy year in front of him. He says, “I have my R&B hip-hop album – I haven’t named it yet, and “Trapped in the Closet,” I have 35 more chapters of that done. I’m very excited about that.”

The 35 chapters will add on to a series that already has 33.

“Trapped In The Closet” debuted in 2005 as the final tracks on his album TP.3 Reloaded. The “hip-hopera” started off as a good idea but then got more bizarre as the storyline dragged on. It began with the lead character creeping with a married woman and being forced to hide in the closet when her husband got home. From there police officers, midgets, preachers and a gang of other people wind up in the story. As of 2007, the main character, Sylvester, was caught up in some deal with a mobster while currently starring in a play called “Out The Closet.”

“Trapped In The Closet” grew into a phenomenon that included DVD box sets as well as a memorable appearance at the 2005 MTV Awards where Kelly performed the story on stage alone. R. Kelly has hinted at creating a tour around the series.
