Well before Raven-Symoné earned a paycheck to play “game of trolls” on ABC’s The View, Rosie Perez was rumored to already have one foot out the door of the hit daytime show.

Now, it’s officially a wrap for her tenure. The 50-year-old Hollywood vet is said to be leaving the show to “focus on acting.”

Via USA TODAY:

Executive producer Bill Wolff set a note to the ABC daytime talk show’s staff announcing Perez’s impending departure. The actress, who joined the long-running series as a co-host last fall, will leave later this summer when the current season ends.

Wolff, who praised Perez for bringing passion and insight to the panel, wrote: “Our friend Rosie Perez has decided to leave the show at the conclusion of this season to pursue full time her love for acting. Stepping into the role of talk show host at the same time she has been starring on Broadway has been incredibly impressive.”

He said the show would give her a proper sendoff when she leaves and that she is welcome to return as a guest.

Her last day will be August 6th when the current season ends.

Rosie Perez’s notable acting roles include Do the Right Thing and White Men Can’t Jump–but those films were three decades ago. It’ll be interesting to see what her next endeavors should consist of aside from the fact they won’t include looking at Raven-Symoné’s troll doll-colored hair every morning.

As for The View, someone needs to stand up and call a spade and spade and address the real problem and why the show has become a revolving door for cast members as of late.
