The 59th Annual Grammy Awards were, as expected, a hot item of discussion across social media most especially Twitter. During the live event, fans chimed in with some extreme reactions with criticism and celebration sometimes going hand in hand at times.
While it was expected that Beyonce would take home one of the big awards in Album Of The Year or Record Of The Year, Adele won all five awards in the categories she was nominated for. However, the British singer taking a moment to say that Beyonce should have won for her Lemonade album over Adele’s 25 got plenty of chatter. Even with Adele praising Bey, fans are screaming that the Grammys were rigged but that’s a usual refrain year in and year out.
Chance The Rapper notching three awards was another feel-good moment, but there were other moments like Adele’s George Michael tribute that got a lot of flack. Bruno Mars’ Prince tribute alongside Morris Day and The Time was another highlight that garnered discussion. Much of the conversation around the Grammys are still ongoing at this hour a half day after the event and is expected to continue.
