Tiger Woods is getting help to manage his prescription medicine intake.
Woods makes the admission after he was pulled over for DUI on Memorial Day Weekend. Initial reports claimed that he was drunk driving, however, it was revealed that he was under the influence of a cocktail of prescription medicines that he is taking to treat his numerous sports injuries. Particularly with his lower back on which he has had multiple surgeries.
“I’m currently receiving professional help to manage my medications and the ways that I deal with back pain and sleep disorder,” Woods said via statement. “I want to thank everyone for the amazing outpouring of support and understanding, especially the fans and players on Tour.”
In an earlier statement, he admitted that he did not know how strongly the medicine affected him before getting into his car.
At the time of his arrest, Twitter had all of the jokes as it seemed this was yet another step backward for the former #1 golf player in the world. Media outlets had fun posting his mug shot as well. Weeks later, the jokes have calmed down since the truth has come out.
