MC Lyte has long established herself as one of Hip-Hop top women artists and has grown to become a leading motivational speaker and philanthropist. The Brooklyn veteran tied the knot recently in Jamaica, and she shared photos of the beautiful event exclusively with ESSENCE.

She met her husband Marine veteran and businessman, John Wyche, using the dating service, Match.com. In the exclusive chat with ESSENCE, Lyte shared a little information about the event and how the pair met.

As the sun set on the beaches of Montego Bay, Jamaica entertainment legend and co-founder of the Hip Hop Sisters Foundation Lana “MC Lyte” Moorer exchanged vows with Marine Corp Veteran and entrepreneur John Wyche.
The intimate and soulful beach wedding at the Sandals Royal Caribbean Resort was a party from beginning to end as Lyte walked down the aisle to reggae Congo bands, friend Kelly Price serenaded the couple during their ceremony communion and the newlyweds along with their guests danced the night away with DJ Jermaine.
“It was so beautiful and a fairytale,” says Lyte. “I got my king.”
