Georgia Mayor To Sign Law Making Sagging Pants Illegal

A mayor in Georgia is taking a stand against the trend of sagging pants, signing a law into effect that will make it illegal.

The mayor of Dublin, Georgia, Phil Best, plans to sign an amendment to his city’s “indecent exposure” ordinance.

The new amendment will prohibit the wearing of pants or skirts “more than three inches below the top of the hips exposing the skin or undergarments.”

Speaking to CNN, mayor Best says violators could face charges ranging from $25 to $200 or court mandated community service.

“We’ve gotten several complaints from citizens saying the folks with britches down below their buttocks was offensive, and wasn’t there something we could do about it… we’d (rather) not fine anybody but we are prepared to.”

The amendment means council members put exposure due to baggy clothing in the same category as masturbation, fornication and urination in public places.

@ Mike, I’m not gay, but it’s always been my contention that sagging pants is defifnitely gay. I wouldn’t want a gay guy checking out my butt crack, and the origins of such style come from the gay dudes in, and out of the penitentary showing off their goods.
Popular culture has all but said it’s ok to appear in public this way. I’m glad you posted what you did Mike. Maybe that will make those saggers think twice about the message they are sending, and realize that they are very appealing to gay guys.
It’s not cool, it’s GAY as hell-no matter who does it, and it should be governed since so many parents are allowing their sons, and daughters to leave the house this way. No real parent is going to condone this. I’d never let mine do it, and they don’t. And guess what; they are still cool kids.

I’ve been on the inside, and I’ve seen it, so there’s no truth to your “urban legend”theory. It evolved into straight fashion(for lack of a better word), but back inthe day, that’s what it represented in the NYS dept of corr. svcs. (Guess u would have had to been there to understand this. I know plenty of straight men who would never wear their pants this way. We weren’t raised like that.
