Budweiser Superfest Presents Jill Scott’s Summer Block Party
Budweiser, Live Nation Entertainment and Haymon Events announced today the return of Budweiser Superfest featuring Jill Scott for a month-long, nationwide concert tour beginning July 26 in Boston.
The Budweiser Superfest, produced by Live Nation Entertainment-Haymon Ventures, LLC brings Scott’s neosoul groove to amphitheaters around the country beginning July 26 through August 28 and will feature Anthony Hamilton, Mint Condition and DJ Jazzy Jeff while Doug E. Fresh plays host.
Budweiser Superfest concert tickets are available at www.LiveNation.com and www.Ticketmaster.com.
In the spirit of making a difference, Anheuser-Busch is celebrating the performances by donating $150,000 from its Foundation to UNCF (United Negro College Fund); presented as $10,000 scholarships in 15 of the 17 Superfest concert cities.
The scholarships will be awarded to local students attending a UNCF school.
Budweiser is again searching for local talent (21+) in select Superfest cities to compete in its “Opening Act” competition, this year powered by MySpace Music.
Winners will earn a chance to be the opening act for the Budweiser Superfest, show tickets and cash in select markets.
Competitions will take place in the weeks prior to each concert and contestants can Go to www.myspace.com/budweiseropeningact to enter and review the contest rules.
At the conclusion of the Budweiser Superfest tour, music fans may go to www.myspace.com/budweiseropeningact to view performances by the local winners to vote for their favorite. The 2011 “Opening Act” grand prize winner will receive $25,000.
