Janet Jackson Isn’t Attending Michael Jackson Tribute
Janet Jackson won’t be making the trip to Cardiff, Wales for the Michael Jackson tribute concert on October 8th.
According to reports, Michael’s beloved sister will not attend the concert, due to the show coinciding with the trial of the doctor charged in Michael Jackson’s death.
Unlike her brothers Jermaine and Randy, Janet Jackson did not criticize the show, but she did release a statement yesterday, on what would have been Michael’s 53rd birthday, saying:
“Because of the trial, the timing of this tribute to our brother would be too difficult for me.”
Christina Aguilera, Smokey Robinson and Cee Lo Green are some of the artists scheduled to perform during the tribute concert.
Michael’s mother, Katherine, along with some of her children are expected to attend.
The opening statements in the involuntary manslaughter trial against Dr. Conrad Murray are scheduled to begin on September 27.
