Queen Latifah For Parade Magazine

Queen Latifah is the latest celebrity to cover an issue of Parade magazine and in it is speaking on a number of topics.

The femcee and producer of VH1’s hit series “Single Ladies” revealed that the show will be back for another season with new surprises.

It was also recently revealed that Stacey Dash would not be signing on for the second season.

“We intend to continuously surprise viewers for the whole new season. The goal is to keep if fresh and interesting.”

In addition to Single Ladies, the rap pioneer answered questions about Nicki Minaj and other female rappers following in her footsteps.
According to Latifah she can see how her work allowed others like Nicki to breakthrough.

“I know that I’ve had something to do with it. People paved the way for me and you pave the way for others. You have to expand the game as much as you can for the ladies. I’ve always kind of been a champion for the ladies in that sense. Even if we don’t like each other necessarily, I appreciate that each of us has our own voice and we can express ourselves the way we see fit. Not that Nicki is like me per se, but I think many female rappers have been inspired by me as I have been inspired by others.”

Latifah also discussed the lack of diversity in rap and her upcoming movie “Joyful Noise” with Dolly Parton.
