Conscious rhymes? In 2012? Count Harlem’s Rugz D. Bewler is an MC that uses his rhyme powers for righteousness. Bewler’s video for “Cuz I’m Black” incorporate archival Civil Rights era footage (with plenty of Malcolm X) to bolster the rapper’s bars about the trials and tribulations, and pride, that come with being a Black man in the hood.
