Alicia Keys and Mariah Carey sang for President Obama, and other attendees of a fundraiser supporting his re-election in New York City, Thursday. The event was one of two soirees held in his honor that day, the first of which took place at the home of actress, Sarah Jessica Parker, costing $40,000 per ticket.

“We’ve got as fundamental a choice this time out than we have had in 30, 40 or 50 years,” the president told the room of 50.  “What we are going to have to do is present very clearly to the American people that choice.”

Obama started the day out speaking to voters in Ohio about the state of the economy, and his plan for job creation. Once in New York he stopped by Ground Zero alongside the state’s governor, Andrew Cuomo, Mayor Michael Bloomberg, and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie.

As the top fundraising politician in history, the POTUS is known to bring in the dough, and raised a combined total $4.5 million at both events.
