Some audiences just don’t get Dave Chappelle. The comedian performed at The Paramount Theatre in Austin, Texas Tuesday (June 19), and things didn’t go so well. Booking the show at the last minute, and performing to a sold out crowd of 1,250 did little to ease the tension in the room. Despite being instructed not to heckle him, the audience failed to follow instructions, and showered Chappelle with rants, ending with one person being removed.

The two hour show hit a snag early on, when Chappelle noticed an audience member recording his set. According to Austin360.com, only 50 people clashed with the 39-year-old, but he responded to nearly every one of them with a “ninja-like grace.”

This isn’t the first time Chappelle, has gone toe-to-toe with his fans. Last summer he was heckled during an appearance in Miami.
