Now that Mitt Romney has announced  Congressman Paul Ryan as his running mate, President Obama has honed in on the aspiring vice president’s short comings. Ryan has been criticized for his stance on Medicare which he believes should no longer be offered by the government, but adjusted in the form of a stipend given to senior citizens to purchase their own health care.

As Romney headed to Florida to campaign, the president released a new ad featuring elderly residents in the state. “Health care, to me, is my number one priority, now that I’m going on 65,” said one woman.

“It just doesn’t make any since to cut Medicare, if we cut it now, what’s gonna’ happen to our middle class?” asked another woman.

Given the large population of retired people in the sunshine state, one man pointed out that Ryan’s proposed Medicare cuts will be detrimental. “Those kinds of cuts are gonna’ be incredibly painful to the working class person because we’re gonna’ be the ones who are going to be paying for it.”

Ryan plan would bring an end to the national health care law, but was touted as saving the country money by retaining $700 billion in funds spent on Medicare. However, depending on the inflated price of health care in years to come, there’s a chance that the vouchers given to those in need may not cover the costs.
