Flying Lotus premiered a track that can only be referred to as “homage for your ears” during his mix for Diplo’s Diplo & Friends show on BBC Radio 1. No exaggeration, it’s that good.

Affectionately titled “Flotus,” and with no reference to First Lady Michelle Obama to our knowledge, the instrumental track features ambient strings and chords. The track actually has an almost orchestral feel, until a seamlessly placed hi-hat and drums appear halfway through it, giving it a feel reminiscent to Rich Boy’s “Throw Some D’s.”

No word on exactly where “Flotus” will land, so in the mean time appreciate the good vibes the track evokes. Hip-Hop doesn’t hear feel good like this very often. Between his recent solo efforts and his work with the mysterious Captain Murphy, Flying Lotus has a lot more good music in store. Check out “Flotus” below.
