When faced with the honor of interviewing the leader of the free world (especially during an election year), one must be meticulous in asking the proper questions.

As such, when TV and radio personality Michael Yo was given the opportunity to speak with President Obama he wasted no time taking him to task on a very tough question: will American Idol judges Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey be able to squash their beef?

The president recently called into Yo’s radio program, The Yo Show, and when asked if he could step in an end the feud, offered up a hopeful disposition. “I think that they are going to be able to sort it out, I am confident,” he said.

“I’m all about bringing people together,” the POTUS continued. “Working for the same cause, I think both outstanding artists are going to be able to make sure that they’re moving forward and not going backwards.”

Despite knowing both Carey and her husband Nick Cannon, and praising the songbird for being “a wonderful lady,” the president maintained a neutral ground. Even though he hasn’t met Minaj, her music is in his iPod, which may be just as good as meeting her in the flesh.

Soon after it was announced that Minaj was the second female judge on the Fox singing competition, rumors of a woman-to-woman feud hit the atmosphere. Carey half-heartedly denied the tales, saying that it was too early in the game to start fighting, but within weeks she changed her tune. According to the mother of two, Minaj showered her with bad language and threatened to pull a strap to shoot Carey. The Young Money rapper denied the allegations, but the damage is likely already done.

Thank goodness President Obama was able to take time out of his busy schedule to share his thoughts, now the world can carry on with business as usual.
