2 Chainz visited BET’s Don’t Sleep and sat down for an interview with show host T.J. Holmes to discuss voting, voter suppression and why he feels its important to use his celebrity to influence and inform the community, particularly felons. Holmes candidly asked the “Riot” rapper why anyone who once hurt the community, should be allowed vote.

“Everyone deserves a second chance, depending on the crime of course,” 2 Chainz told TJ Holmes. “Being that I was 15 I feel like I wasn’t mature enough. I feel like I [succumbed] to some kind of peer pressure… That’s not an excuse for none of the things that took place. But just for me I feel like if someone makes mistakes as early as 18, before they can even drive, I feel like they should be given another opportunity, depending on how severe the case was.

The Hair Weave Killer then discussed his work with the Respect My Vote campaign, where he focuses on getting the word out to felons that if they take care of the proper paperwork, they can indeed vote.

Later on that night, 2 Tity joined Kanye West as his surprise guest at an exclusive event/show launching the new Samsung Galaxy Note II smartphone.
