Elliott Wilson releases the latest installment of his Life + Times sponsored online series The Truth with impecable timing. This time asking “Has Hip-Hop abandoned Obama?” Citing the Hip-Hop communities’ emphatic following of the commander and chief during his 2008 presidential campaign, YN examines how the dynamics have changed in Hip-Hop’s relationship with Obama.

According to Wilson, “It just seemed like that time in 2008, the Hip-Hop community was fully entrenched in the process and wanting to get out and vote. Now you look four years later, the Hip-Hop community is not really backing him the same way. You don’t have a big song like Jeezy in support of him, plus other artists have been critical at times or seem very indecisive about their position.”
