She came, she saw, she conquered. Rihanna landed her first No. 1 album in her more than seven-year career with the release of Unapologetic which officially topped Billboard’s album charts selling 283,000 copies in one week.

“Wait!!!!! What the F-CK?!!!! #UNAPOLOGETIC just debuted at #1 in AMERICA!!!!! My first number 1 album there!!! Thank you Navy, u deserve it,”Rih tweeted yesterday. “I’m legit crying like a p-ssy right now!!”

The chart victory comes just one week after her “Diamonds” track became her 12th No. 1 single.

Unapologetic also marks her best first-week sales, flying past the record left by 2010’s  Loud which moved 207,000 copies in a week. All seven of the Bajan beauty’s albums have debuted in the Top 10, starting with 2005’s Music of the Sun.

Throughout her career, Rihanna has always worked hard at promoting her music, touring and appearing all over the globe, but she raised the performance stakes with Unapologetic. Just ahead of the album’s release she set out on a seven-day, seven -date, seven-country tour bringing 200 fans and journalists along for the ride. The 777 tour was marred by bad press as those aboard complained of lack of food, sleep, and interviews with the superstar.

“It was different having to do your job but also have 200 guests come along with you,” she explained in an interview with BBC Radio. “They all want you to host a party every time you get on the plane after a show but you really only have that time to sleep until you get to the next country. Sometimes it was a two-hour ride to the next country and that was all the sleep you would get.”

In addition to the regular release, a special collector’s edition of Unapologetic will ship out in early December, and retails for $250.
