Essence Magazine’s Editor And Chief Angela Burt-Murray Steps Down

According to the New York Post, Angela Burt-Murray, the Editor and Chief of Essence magazine, is resigning her position after her fiver year run.

Although neither Burt-Murray nor the celebrated women’s magazine issued a statement giving details for her sudden departure, the Post reported that Burt-Murray announced her split from ESSENCE during a staff meeting.

Burt-Murray said she was relocating to Atlanta with her family and was ready to continue with her new journey.
Murray who recently took widespread criticism during the summer when she appointed White woman Ellianna Placas to lead the magazine’s fashion section.

Although the departure may have been sudden, many sources say that Burt had announced she was leaving last July, but wanted to keep the news in wraps.
