Reps for Lil Wayne have released a statement on a series of fake bookings for the Young Money rapper and a number of his artists.

As previously reported scammers posed as Wayne’s manager Cortez Bryant and created a fake Twitter account and email address to gain money for Lil Wayne appearances in November of 2009.

Since then, another scam has taken place, this time by an individual posing as not only Bryant but his operations manager Nina Packer.

Reps for Lil Wayne released a statement on the matter saying,

“It has come to light that an individual has been impersonating Bryant Management CEO Cortez Bryant, and Bryant Management operations manager Nina Packer, for financial gain through false bookings of a Lil Wayne featuring Young Money / Cash Money family tour.  Utilizing phony email addresses (cbryant@youngmoneytour2011.com / N.PACKER@YOUNGMONEYTOUR2011.COM) the individual(s) have been targeting independent promoters across the nation in an attempt to solicit dates for a Lil Wayne headlined tour featuring artists such as Nicki Minaj, Drake, Birdman and others for spring 2011.

Lil Wayne, who is co-managed by Bryant Management and Hip Hop Since 1978, domestic tours are booked exclusively by Live Nation and Shawn Gee of SEFG, LLC.”

Lil Wayne was recently congratulated by members of his camp for completing his first song since his release from prison.
