Karinne Steffans Files Restraining Order Against ‘Family Matters’ Star Darius McCrary
Karrine Steffans is working to protect herself against her now ex-husband Darius McCrary, the actor known for playing Eddie Winslow on the popular television show “Family Matters. “
As previously reported, Steffans penned an open-letter about McCrary accusing him of domestic violence including an incident where she was raped and another when she was beaten with a belt.
Now the author and former video vixen is asking a judge to enforce a more permanent restraining order against him.
TMZ reports that she filed legal papers in L.A. Thursday and in them says that McCrary “choked me from behind and beat me with a belt” during an argument in February … an attack allegedly witnessed by her 12-year-old son.
She also claims that McCrary was abusive in November, choking her and shoving her into a car in front of a large crowd of people at the Sunset Marquis Hotel in L.A.
Steffans is expected to appear in court next week.
McCrary filed for divorce from her in February.
