Everyone’s favorite Hip-Hop heroine Jean Grae is gearing up for the next phase of her career.  Although her partnership with Talib Kweli’s Blacksmith Records was dissolved due to the label’s shutdown, the witty MC isn’t allowing herself to rest on her laurels. Grae has announced the creation of a new multimedia company, Kids Are Gonna Die (KAGD), and a partnership with the existing W.A.R. Media (Pharoahe Monch’s label) to release a slew of projects in the coming year.

Grae, along with W.A.R. Media CEO Guy Routte, are the heads of the KAGD merger that will usher in the impending release of her sixth and seventh albums, Gotham Down and Cake Or Death, respectively.  KAGD will serve as a hub for her various creative ventures, such as an upcoming sitcom written and directed by the rapper. If you follow Jean Grae on Twitter, you know she has a natural knack for the comically absurd.

The partnership got off to a brisk start with the release of the “Kill Screen” track and the chilling accompanying video earlier this year. After turning heads with the experimental video project, Grae will launch herself into the role of show producer with a bi-weekly sitcom, “Life With Jeannie,” featuring her as the main star. A capable vocalist, Grae is also set to release a holiday-themed comedy EP titled Ho X 3 on Christmas Day.

2013 promises to deliver more of Grae’s expected fare with the Gotham Down project dropping next month with Cake Or Death following in the second quarter of the year.

Congrats to Jean Grae and Kids Are Gonna Die for their power moves.
