Clint Eastwood may not be fond of President Obama (or his invisible clone), but the feeling is not mutual. When asked of his thoughts on the 82-year-old actor’s puzzling appearance at the Republican National Convention last week, the president had nothing but nice things to say. “He is a great actor, and an even better director,” the president told USA Today. “I think the last few movies that he’s made have been terrific.”

Of course the commander in chief opted to side-step a potential feud with Eastwood, who used the appearance to express his disdain for the president’s four years in office; rather than highlighting why Republican candidate, Mitt Romney, is the better choice to lead the country.

When specifically asked about Eastwood’s bizarre conversation with an empty chair that was meant to represent him, the POTUS was unfazed .”One thing about being president or running for president, if you’re easily offended, you should probably chose another profession,” he said.

Whether he was moved or not, the president took a shot back at the screen legend posting a photo on Twitter under the caption “This seat’s taken.”

Now that the RNC has wrapped up in Tampa, the Democrats will have their shot at firing up their party going into the November election.

The Democratic National Convention begins this week in Charlotte, N.C.
