After going back and forth with his ex-wife Tameka Raymond in court, Usher is finally ready to speak publicly about his on-going custody battle. For the first (and last) time, Usher aired out the details behind the headlines, in an interview with Oprah Winfrey for her Oprah’s Next Chapter series.

The singer was granted primary custody of his sons, Usher Raymond V and Naviyd Raymond, but Tameka is seeking to have the ruling overturned on grounds of bias. According to the mother of five, Usher bought his way to a victory since his lawyers raised money for the re-election campaign of the judge presiding over the case.

During the interview, Usher—who previously declined requests from the Queen of Talk—left no stone unturned in the candid sit-down. He responded to allegations that he was unfaithful, his relationship with his mother,  and breaking down during a concert in Germany last year. “I felt like I would never perform again,” he said.

Oprah also asks him about making love to his own music, which made him laugh. “I love that,” he says in response to the question.

Over the last several months, Oprah has snagged big interviews with the likes of 50 Cent, Rihanna, and Gabby Douglas, to name a few.

Usher’s episode airs on OWN, Sunday, Sept. 16 at 9 p.m. EST.
