Tyga is still explaining exactly what went down when old footage of him claiming another hood hit the ‘Net, last month. In an interview with Power 106’s Big Boy’s Neighborhood, the Young Money rapper exposed MTV’s Bustas as being fake, and was adamant about where he’s from.

“It wasn’t called Bustas at the time,” he said of the show which he taped when he was 15. “It was a pilot. It was supposed to be who was the next rapper to get signed at the time. The intro beginning was scripted. I never grew up in the Valley. I lived in Compton/Gardena my whole life.”

After TMZ released the video, Tyga remained mum. With the public thinking he’d gone the route of other rappers who’ve faked the details in their life stories to fit their musical persona (it happened, Rick Ross. Accept reality), the 23-year-old responded online calling for TMZ to “stop the lies.” He also posted a photo wearing a “Compton” sweatshirt for good measure.

Not that where he’s from even matters, but perhaps he used the Los Angeles radio station as a forum to quiet any leftover hatred.

Take a listen to the interview below.
